13/03/2007 Area Sales Manager
ACAL Microsystems is a division of ACAL Technology Limited and is a leading UK technical distributor supplying embedded and bus based computer products to the UK's OEM's and System Integrators in the Avionics, Broadcast, Communications, Defence, Industrial, Medical and Transport industries.

Reporting to the Divisional Manager, your key objectives will be: -

- To manage and develop a specific Sales Area to ensure Company revenue and profit targets are met/exceeded.

- To promote the sales of Franchised products to new and existing customers.

- To prospect, obtain and develop new business in line with company policy.

- To work as a team with other staff to achieve the above.


Main Responsibilities:

- To obtain orders to meet Sales Targets by managing both Key and Desk accounts.

- To work as a team with Internal Sales to provide effective coverage of all size
opportunities.

- To liase with technical, commercial and office staff at both ACAL Technology Limited and its suppliers to develop and maintain Accounts in target markets. (e.g. Joint visits, demonstrations and presentations),

- To maintain a detailed knowledge of ACAL Microsystems franchised products and services and their possible applications and markets.

- To keep up to date with product prices, discounts and exchange rates.

- To provide accurate and timely Sales Forecasts. (Monthly and as required).

- To make best use of time by planning visits, calls and administration tasks efficiently.

- To maintain up to date customer records and databases. (visit reports,
pricing/discounts etc).

- To present a smart and professional image.

- To complete administration tasks in a timely manner. (e.g. Itineraries and lost
business reports).

- To continually sharpen and improve selling skills, by analysing own performance
and discussion with the Divisional Manager.


Additional Requirements:

- To liase with other Divisions of ACAL Technology as required.

- To provide back up for other team members during Holiday and Sickness.

- To be available for Sales meetings, Exhibitions and Training as required.

- To perform other tasks for the General and Divisional Managers as required.
(e.g. market and competitive research).


Personal Qualities:

- To be capable of selling to all levels of personnel in target accounts (Engineers, Buyers, Project managers and General managers).

- To be self-motivated and capable of working from a home office.

- To communicate with customers and staff clearly and efficiently.

- To be able to work as part of the team.
